Austin Utilities is offering a scholarship for local graduating high school seniors in the amount of $500 with the intent to increase the awareness of municipal utility organizations. The winning essay will then automatically be sent for further consideration of the Tom Bovitz Memorial Scholarship award provided by Minnesota Municipal Utilities Association. That scholarship fund is split into $2,000, $1,500, $1,000, and $500 scholarships. Those eligible must be, or have as a legal guardian, a customer of Austin Utilities.
