As a municipal utility we are community owned. Our mission is to serve you, our customer. We are not here just to sell high quality and reliable energy and water services but to provide a value to the community we serve. We measure success by how much money stays within the community through low rates and contributions to the city budget.

Education

Our customers benefit from the education we provide. Stop by our office and help yourself to the extensive variety of educational materials we have on display. Each year you will see us throughout the community promoting and educating our customers on our various energy efficiency programs.

The Conserve & Save at Home workshops will teach participants common sense ways to decrease energy use and save money on their utility bills. Workshop participants will be able to sign up for the new Conserve & Save House Call, a comprehensive energy audit program; a $300 value that participants will receive for a co-pay of only $25, normally $50. The Conserve and Save House Call will include a blower door test and installation of low-cost materials. Participants will also receive information on innovative financing, incentives, rebates and stimulus funding.

	Green Scene The purpose of the Green Scene is to bring you a variety of “Green” related topics that will help raise your awareness for the wellbeing of our environment and living lightly on the planet. Whether you consider yourself green or are looking for ideas on ways to live green, this is the scene for you!

	As a community owned, not for profit electric, natural gas, and water utility, Austin Utilities is here to serve by providing energy services that are safe and affordable. That is why we not only sell energy but are also committed to saving energy and money for our customers. Our Conserve & Save rebate program helps make our customers decision to buy energy efficient equipment easier and it’s good for the environment too. Last year, the savings achieved through our program reduced carbon emissions by 3,570 tons, the equivalent of planting 1,354 trees. Now that’s green!!
